This Cookie Policy explains how BooksEZ uses cookies and similar technologies across our marketing website, the platform dashboard, and the embedded accounting components that run inside our partners' products. It sets out what we collect, the purpose behind each cookie, and the controls available to you.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device to remember information between pages and return visits. Related technologies, including local storage and tracking pixels, perform comparable functions. For the purposes of this policy, BooksEZ treats all of them under the same standards described below.
2. Why BooksEZ uses cookies
We use cookies for four defined purposes, and no others.
- Strictly necessary. Keeping platform users authenticated and the product functioning, so sessions remain secure and uninterrupted.
- Functional. Remembering your preferences, including language, region, and selections you have already confirmed.
- Analytics. Understanding how visitors engage with our marketing website, which informs how we improve it.
- Marketing. Measuring the effectiveness of our campaigns and attributing where a visit originated.
Importantly, BooksEZ does not run cross-site advertising trackers on embedded accounting components, or on any surface where a small business owner's financial data is displayed. As embedded financial infrastructure for SaaS platforms, we hold those surfaces to a stricter standard than the marketing site.

4. Cookies on embedded components
The BooksEZ embedded accounting components rendered inside a partner platform's product surface use only the strictly necessary cookies listed above. We deploy no analytics cookies and no marketing trackers on these surfaces. This standard reflects our role as white-label accounting infrastructure operating on behalf of the platform, and your own cookie disclosures to your end customers should reflect the same.
5. Your controls
You can manage cookies through three independent methods.
- The BooksEZ cookie banner. Presented on your first visit to booksez.com. You can reopen it at any time from the link in the marketing-site footer to update your preferences.
- Your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, either for a single site or across all sites.
- Industry opt-outs. The official Google Analytics opt-out add-on disables the analytics cookie referenced above.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
BooksEZ honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of the "sale or sharing" of personal information, in jurisdictions where the law recognises that signal, including California. We do not currently respond to legacy "Do Not Track" browser headers, as no consistent industry standard defines how they should be interpreted.
7. Changes to this policy
Where a material change is made to this Cookie Policy, BooksEZ will notify you through the cookie banner before the change takes effect.
